Best Video Production Companies in London (2026)

13 London production companies making commercials, music videos and branded content in 2026, from 1980s founders to newer studios

Introduction

London is one of the world’s main centres for commercial production, and the 13 companies below are among the strongest making commercials and branded content there in 2026. They were chosen for recent work, 2025 and 2026 awards, and the quality of their director rosters.

The past year brought clear signals about who is leading. At the 50th British Arrows in March 2026, Biscuit Filmworks was named Production Company of the Year and Blink’s “School’s Back” for Channel 4 took Commercial of the Year. A year earlier, SMUGGLER won both of those titles with Libresse’s “Never Just A Period”. Ownership also shifted in places: in November 2025 Vice Studios closed Pulse Films’ TV and film arm in London, keeping Pulse focused on commercials, music videos and branded entertainment.

Every company here has an active London office in 2026. The list is in no order of merit. Most work through agencies on a director-led model, so the right fit depends on the director you want as much as the company.

What to look for in a London video production company

Start with the director. London companies represent directors on an exclusive basis, and the director’s reel matters more than the company’s logo. Ask which directors are available for your dates, and look at their last two years of work, not their best-known spot from a decade ago.

Check how the company handles a full UK shoot. That means casting, locations, permits from local councils and the major London studios, and the relationship with post houses in Soho. Many of the companies above work closely with editors such as Trim and Final Cut and with VFX studios such as Untold, so ask who they would bring in.

Be clear about budget early. Agencies usually ask several companies to bid, and a treatment from a sought-after director takes real time to prepare. Smaller social-first briefs may fit better with the newer companies or a company’s emerging-director list than with its headline names.

Ask how rushes, cuts and feedback will move between the production, the agency and the client. A commercial can generate terabytes of footage and several rounds of offline and online edits. Companies with an organised way to share cuts, collect notes and track approvals save everyone time in the last weeks before air.

How Fabric helps video production teams

Fabric gives a production team one workspace for footage, treatments, decks and client feedback, with AI search across all of it. The setup for commercial production is built around jobs that run from pitch and treatment to shoot, edit and delivery.

Rushes and edit files sit in Fabric’s cloud drive, which streams files on demand so they take no local disk space, and heavy video files open without a full download. There is more on this in how to edit video without filling your SSD. Transcription turns interviews and takes in MP4, MOV and other formats into searchable text with clickable timestamps, and search then finds a line of dialogue or a shot by meaning. Similar search surfaces footage close in composition and colour, which helps when hunting for b-roll.

Treatments and moodboards come together on a canvas that embeds YouTube and Vimeo references. For delivery, any cut or folder can be published as a web page with password protection, and link analytics shows when each agency or client contact opened it. Clients can leave threaded comments through a shared link without signing up. Timestamped comments and drawing on video are listed as coming soon in annotations.

On Team plans, self-writing docs keep a page for each client or job, covering decisions, deliverables and open items drawn from meetings, Slack and the workspace.

Password protection and link analytics are included on Pro and Team plans, and self-writing docs on Team plans. See plans for teams.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best video production company in London?

It depends on the brief and the director you need. On recent awards, Biscuit Filmworks was Production Company of the Year at the 2026 British Arrows, SMUGGLER won the same title in 2025, and Blink made the 2026 Commercial of the Year for Channel 4.

What won Commercial of the Year at the 2026 British Arrows?

Channel 4’s “School’s Back” for Educating Yorkshire, made by 4creative and Blink and directed by Dougal Wilson. It won six Arrows, including gold for direction.

Is Pulse Films still making commercials?

Yes. Vice Studios closed Pulse’s TV and film production in November 2025, but Pulse continues in London with commercials, music videos and branded entertainment.

How much does a commercial from a London production company cost?

Costs vary widely with the director, shoot days, cast and locations. Most agency-led commercials are bid on a full production budget, and the director’s fee and shoot length drive most of the difference. Ask for a detailed bid against a fixed brief so quotes can be compared.

Do production companies handle post-production?

Usually they manage it, but the edit, grade, VFX and sound are often done by specialist houses. Our list of London post-production companies covers the main ones.
