Best Post-Production Companies in London (2026)

12 London post-production companies covering edit, grade, sound and finishing in 2026, from Soho feature facilities to factual TV specialists

Introduction

London has the largest concentration of post-production facilities in Europe, most of it within a few streets of Soho and Fitzrovia. The 12 companies below each take a project from offline edit through grade, sound and delivery, whether that is a studio feature, a high-end drama or a long-running factual series.

The past year has been difficult for the sector. Televisual’s Facilities 50 report in December 2025 described too many facilities chasing fewer commissions. That same month Mojo Bridge, the parent of Halo Post and Evolutions, went into administration under Envy’s ownership, and in May 2026 Envy’s commercials house Absolute closed after almost three decades. Consolidation has filled some of the gaps: Ireland’s Playhouse Studios bought LipSync in June 2025 and Halo’s Noel Street building in 2026, merging both into Playhouse Post.

Every company here has an active London facility in 2026. We favoured houses that offer the whole chain of services under one roof, and looked at recent credits, awards and stability. Specialist colour, VFX and editing studios have their own lists. The order is not a ranking, since the right house depends on the format, the budget and how much of the finish you want in one building.

The best post-production companies in London

1. Molinare

Part of Molinare Creative Group · Soho · molinare.co.uk

Molinare has worked in London for more than 50 years and is one of the best-known names in Soho post, with its headquarters near Carnaby Street. CEO Nigel Bennett has built it into the Molinare Creative Group, which adds Notorious DIT for dailies and on-set work, the Sound Warriors audio brand and Voice Molinare for ADR and voice recording. The group opened its first site outside London, in Liverpool, starting with Notorious DIT.

The company covers picture and sound for scripted drama, features and documentaries, and grades on Baselight. Recent documentary work includes Workerbee’s Janet Jackson series and Meerkat Manor: Rise of the Dynasty. Productions that want dailies, edit, grade, sound and ADR from one supplier can keep the whole chain inside the group.

2. Goldcrest Post

Part of Goldcrest · Soho · goldcrestfilms.com

Goldcrest Post runs two buildings on Lexington Street in Soho, with two DI theatres, three sound mixing theatres, ADR studios, cutting rooms, VFX and an ARRI film scanner. It is part of Goldcrest, which also has a post facility in New York, and it works mostly on features and high-end television.

Recent credits include Slow Horses, Jurassic World: Rebirth, How to Train Your Dragon, Say Nothing, Young Sherlock and Crime 101. Adam Glasman’s grade on Nosferatu was commended at the 2025 FilmLight Colour Awards. With picture and sound in the same pair of buildings, it suits productions that want one facility from dailies to final mix.

3. Envy

Independent · Fitzrovia · envypost.co.uk

Envy describes itself as an end-to-end post facility and runs from several buildings in Fitzrovia, including Stephen Street, Mortimer Street, Foley Street and Windmill Street, with offline, online, grade, audio and machine room services. It won Best Post Production House at the 2025 Broadcast Awards.

Its strength is unscripted and factual entertainment. Recent credits include The Traitors US season 4, The Celebrity Traitors, Gogglebox and the documentary Girl on the Run: The Hunt for America’s Most Wanted Woman. The group has had a hard year: Halo Post and Evolutions, which it bought in 2025, went into administration in December 2025, and Absolute closed in May 2026. Envy’s own facilities continue to trade, but it is worth asking which team and building will handle your show.

4. Harbor London

Owned by Harbor Picture Company · Clerkenwell · harborpicturecompany.com

Harbor is a New York post group with studios in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and London. It entered London by buying the colour studio Cheat in September 2023, and its London site at Turnmills in Clerkenwell now offers dailies, colour, sound, ADR, VFX, offline editorial and delivery.

Cheat founder Toby Tomkins graded Harry Lighton’s Pillion (A24), which won Best British Independent Film at BIFA 2025. The building handles commercials as well as features and series, which suits directors who move between the two and want picture and sound with the same team.

5. Warner Bros. De Lane Lea

Owned by Warner Bros. · Soho · wbsl.com/de-lane-lea

De Lane Lea is Warner Bros.’ post facility in central London, part of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. Its Greek Street building offers sound editorial, mixing and ADR across several stages, plus colour grading, dailies, VFX and online editing, QC, mastering and cutting rooms. The company says it is moving to new premises on Soho Square in August 2026.

Recent credits include Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning, Andor season 2, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Although it is studio-owned, it takes independent features and high-end television as well as Warner Bros. titles.

6. Playhouse Post

Owned by Playhouse Studios · Soho · playhousestudios.ie

Playhouse Post is the newest name on this list. Irish production group Playhouse Studios bought LipSync, the Wardour Street post house founded in 1984, in June 2025 after LipSync entered administration. In 2026 it bought Halo Post’s former building on Noel Street and merged the two under the Playhouse Post name, led by CEO Mark Foligno, previously CEO of Molinare.

The combined business offers picture finishing, online, colour, VFX, sound and delivery in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, including a 17-seat Dolby theatre at Noel Street. LipSync’s recent credits include The Brutalist, Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light and The Salt Path, and recent work at Noel Street includes Surviving Black Hawk Down and Pole to Pole with Will Smith. The Noel Street building was being refurbished through summer 2026, so check which suites are open when you book.

7. The Finish Line

Independent · Camden and Shoreditch · thefinishline.pro

Zeb Chadfield founded The Finish Line in 2011 and became its sole owner after a share purchase. It covers dailies, offline editorial, conform, grade, HDR finishing and delivery, with more than 30 finishing systems. It can work from its own sites, remotely or as a small post facility inside a production’s office. It won Broadcast’s Best Places to Work in TV award in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

In July 2025 it partnered with audio house Fitzrovia Post at Fitzrovia Studios on Oval Road in Camden, so a production can finish picture and sound in one building. Recent credits include World War II with Tom Hanks for The HISTORY Channel, Best of the World with Antoni Porowski for National Geographic and The Elon Musk Show: The Next Chapter for the BBC. In 2026 it launched Production Buddy, a free media platform for productions that use its processing.

8. Clear Cut Pictures

Part of Clear Cut Group · Shepherd’s Bush and Bloomsbury · clearcutpictures.com

Clear Cut Pictures was founded in 1993 and has grown into one of London’s largest factual post groups, run by managing director Rowan Bray. After buying The Edit & Sound Store, the group has sites in Shepherd’s Bush, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury and Bedford Square, with more than 90 offline suites, 10 online rooms, four grading theatres and 12 dubbing theatres. Sister company Clear Motion handles VFX.

The client list covers the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Discovery, National Geographic and Amazon, and about a third of the work has come from US networks. Past credits include the BAFTA-nominated Louis Theroux: Talking to Anorexia. It suits documentary and factual series that need a lot of offline capacity alongside finishing.

9. Splice

Independent · Shoreditch and Old Street · splicepost.com

Splice is an East London post house founded by Duncan Western and run by managing director Richard Folley. It offers offline and online editing, grading, sound design and mixing, VFX and datacine, with production office space to rent, and says its sites run on 100% renewable energy. Its newest building on Singer Street, near Old Street, has cutting rooms, picture finishing suites and production space.

The work spans documentary, scripted and features, with recent credits including the documentary Meet The Owens. It hired Lauren Andrew as head of scripted post, a sign of its push into drama. For a series that wants its production office, cutting rooms and online close together outside Soho, it is a practical option.

10. Fifty Fifty Post Production

Independent, B Corp certified · Soho · fiftyfiftypost.com

Fifty Fifty is a Soho post house on D’Arblay Street working on broadcast and streaming programmes, with offline, online, grade and audio, and delivery in HDR and Dolby Atmos. It holds B Corp certification.

Recent credits include UNTOLD UK: Jamie Vardy for Netflix, The Assembly series 2 for ITV, Horrible Science series 2 for CBBC, The Vanishing of Debbie Griggs for Sky Crime and How to Trick Your Way Onto The Property Ladder for Channel 4. Its range across entertainment, children’s and factual suits producers with a mixed slate.

11. Twickenham Film Studios

Independent · Twickenham · twickenhamstudios.com

Twickenham Film Studios has operated in St Margarets for more than 100 years and combines stages with picture and sound post, including a preview theatre used for VFX reviews. Andrew Boswell and Superna Sethi have been joint managing directors since November 2022, and the studio opened a virtual production volume stage with Samsung and Quite Brilliant in October 2025.

Recent productions include Enola Holmes 3, Trigger Point season 4, Masters of the Universe and the documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger. Kenneth Branagh has based his company there. Productions shooting at the studio can keep their post on the same site.

12. Serious Facilities

Independent · Fitzrovia · seriousfacilities.co.uk

Serious Facilities was founded in Glasgow in 1998 and opened its first London site in July 2025, a five-storey building on Percy Street in Fitzrovia that previously housed post house The Joint. The London building has 10 hybrid edit suites, a grade and online room, an audio dub and a voiceover booth.

The London site acts as the client-facing hub, while heavier finishing runs from three Glasgow buildings with 55 physical offline suites, 10 online suites, 10 dubs and four grading suites across the group. Serious charges Glasgow rates for work done there, and Screen Scotland incentives can apply, which makes it worth a look for factual series with tight budgets.

What to look for in a London post-production company

Start with the genre. London post splits fairly cleanly between feature and high-end drama facilities, such as Goldcrest, De Lane Lea and Molinare, and the factual and entertainment houses in Fitzrovia and Shepherd’s Bush, such as Envy, Clear Cut and Fifty Fifty. Each side has its own kit, delivery specs and booking habits, and a house that is strong in one will not always be the cheapest or best fit for the other.

Check stability and ownership. Halo, Evolutions, LipSync and Absolute all changed hands or closed between May 2025 and May 2026. Ask who owns the facility, which building and team will handle your project, and what happens to your media if the business changes owner mid-job.

Decide how much you want under one roof. A full-service house can take a show from rushes to final delivery, which saves on transfers and handovers. Some productions still split the work, taking the grade or the mix to a specialist, and most London houses will conform and deliver around that if you agree it at the start.

Plan the media flow early. A factual series can generate hundreds of hours of rushes, and a drama thousands of VFX and grade versions. Agree where rushes, proxies, transcripts and review copies will live, how notes are collected, and who signs off each stage. Productions that settle this before the shoot lose far less time to version confusion in the final weeks.

How Fabric helps post-production teams

Fabric gives a production or post team one workspace for media, documents and notes, with AI search across all of it. The setup for video editors suits the way a show moves between production office, cutting room and finishing.

Rushes, proxies and exports sit in Fabric’s cloud drive, which streams files on demand so they take no local disk space. Heavy video files open without a full download, and shared team folders always hold the latest versions. The guide to what a proxy workflow is covers how editors work with lighter files until the online.

For factual and documentary teams, audio and video transcription turns interviews and rushes into searchable text with clickable timestamps, in MP4, MOV, WAV and other common formats. Search then finds a line, a person or a scene by meaning across transcripts, documents and images, which helps when a producer asks for the moment someone said something three weeks ago.

For review, any file or folder can be published as a web page and shared with password protection. Executives and commissioners can leave threaded comments through a shared link without signing up. Timestamped comments and drawing on video are coming soon to annotations, so frame-accurate notes still belong in a dedicated review tool for now. The review and approval guide shows how teams set this up.

Password protection is included on Pro and Team plans. See plans for teams.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best post-production company in London?

It depends on the project. For features and high-end drama, Goldcrest Post, Warner Bros. De Lane Lea and Molinare have long credit lists, with recent work including Slow Horses, Andor and Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning. For unscripted television, Envy won Best Post Production House at the 2025 Broadcast Awards and works on The Traitors and Gogglebox.

What happened to Halo Post and Evolutions?

Envy bought the Halo group, including Halo Post and Evolutions, in 2025. Their parent company, Mojo Bridge, entered administration in December 2025. Playhouse Studios later bought Halo’s Noel Street building and now runs it as part of Playhouse Post.

What does a full-service post house do?

It handles the stages after the shoot: ingest and dailies, offline editing, conform and online, colour grading, VFX, sound editing and mixing, and final delivery to broadcasters, streamers or cinemas. Some London houses also offer production offices and on-set data services.

Should I use a full-service house or specialists?

A full-service house reduces handovers and keeps one team responsible for delivery. Specialists can give you a particular colourist, mixer or VFX supervisor. Many productions mix the two. If you want to compare specialists, see our lists of colour grading studios in London and VFX studios in London.

How much does post-production cost in London?

Most houses quote per project from a schedule of offline weeks, online and grading days, mix days and deliverables. Soho rates for a feature finish are higher than for a factual series, and some groups, such as Serious, offer lower rates for work done outside London. Ask for an itemised quote that lists each stage and the delivery specs.
